Update 1-31

I apologize for not keeping this up to date. I have been SLACKIN! I have fished the past 4 days with good success on most trips. We are not limiting out but baring the unseasonable weather we are holding our own on the near shore spots along the Door Peninsula. Fishing any where from 12-22fow with gold spoons. The weekend bite was a little tough but we managed to get a good batch of fish most days.

Monday the bite was red hot all day. Started early in the snow for eyes and got 1 nice 19″ switched gears to whitefish and caught some really nice hawgs. Both groups came close or kept what they needed. Gold spoons the bait of choice tagged up with gulp was the ticket!

The crack off lime kiln streches the Hendersons shore line and shoots all the way to snake Island and out along larsons. With this warm weather BE CAREFUL!!!!!

So I took a ride after class and it was a bite alarming to see the crack off lime kiln has grown a bit. It stretches from the south to the north with a large pocket of water to the south and the crack extends north. If you stay on the inside of the crack you should be ok. Did not fish today but the water that has been on top has formed into ice so get your ice cleats ready for this weekend. Going to be slick. Sounds like a great week ahead.

Judging from the MODIS images bay looks to be lock as far north as chambers. Interesting to see this little pocket of water. That is green bay for ya….

Will be out tomorrow. Stay tuned

Fishing report 1-23

Well I fished a new spot today that has been good to me in the past. Did really well. Had a good batch of fish in 20 minutes. Kept a couple for a fish fry. Man do they taste good! I have a couple slots still open for this year. Ring me and we will get you in!

Ice is holding up pretty well. Lots of water on top but that will freeze this week. Good luck JJ

report 1-21

Hey there

So the bite was good from about 7-9ish and then slowed to a stand still till about 1-2. Good bites after that. time had a couple guys out and they had a blast. First timers. Gold spoons with GULP worked the best. I will be out tomorrow fishing so good luck and well see YOU out there! I have some video and will post it soon. Need some time to do that first.

I start school on Tuesday but we will be guiding 7 days a week. I have a guide assistant to help out on Tuesday and Thursdays when I am at class. I can fish till about 9 on those days.

Be Safe

So I ran my first guide trip today. Good success. Fish were a little fussy. Slow rocking on the bottom worked best. Gold spoons were the ticket with GULP waxies. Ice was decent 5-12 out there. Just be careful. Ice is pretty rough. Lots of shoves. Make travel and drilling tough.

WIll be out tomorrow. Watch for a mobile update

Update 1-19

Hey All,

Sorry about the slacking reports. Boy is it COLD out. The ice in Door County is here. There is ice from lime kiln to rileys. Please use extreme caution when going out there. This ice blew in here on the Wednesday night and I am hoping it will stick around. The ice is very rough. Lots of shoves. In the mouth of LS there is 8-11″ on the white ice and 5-7 on the blue. Just be CAREFULL

I did not fish today. Just did some ice checking will be out fishing this weekend and will report back.

Check out modis
