Gettin a little jiggy!

Well I had probably one of the best night on the water so far this year. It seems every time out it just keeps getting better and better. I went out tuesday night with a couple buddies from UWGB. We decided to jig for eyes on the shorelines. Boy were we in for a supraise. In 3 hours jigging we had boated 17 eyes and lost numerous other fish. Fish ranged any where from 28″-20. All healthy looking fish. I hardly had time to fish and was mainly net boy. We used jig heads with Berkley Gulp.

We hit the water again tonight. It was wet and cold. Rained hard for about an hour. I guess when your young like us you’ll fish in any conditons. We used the same tactic and it produced about 9 eyes

in two hours of fishing. Took a couple breaks to warm the fingers and have snack. Fish ranged from 26-18″. All fish were spawned out. Water temp around 45-46ish.

Good Weekend in Door County

Well it was sure another very productive weekend fishing in Door County. I started out on Thursday evening in search for eyes. I had to good buddies of mine out with me. One who has never trolled for walleyes. Started fishing the rocky shorelines and picked up several decent walleyes 18-22″. Then we got pushed in shallow and hooked in to a tank. When we put her on the scale it bounced 11.3-11.6. What a fish. Still prespawn. She is still swimming! 🙂

Friday we set out after browns. The bite was a bite slower but we trolled little Rapalas  and hooked into two fish. Both nice fish. Natural bait colors worked best for us!

Saturday night I had a guide trip with some clients from this winter. The evening started slow but that was short lived. We hooked in to a TANK brown. 13lbs just before dusk and the walleye bite was pretty consistent. Had 8 fish for a couple hours trolling. Stick baits worked best. No bait pattern.  Was a blast.

The walleye bite will remain good for the next 1.5-2.5 weeks depending on mother nature. I have immediate openings if you are interested.

Weekend Fishing

Fished on the big pond on Friday Morning with my good friend Steve Bousley. We were in pursuit of trout and boy did we find them. We had a blast caught 4 browns and 1 nice rainbow. See attached video. We trolled in about 15-20fow using small bright Rapalas. Fishing them higher up in the column worked best.

At night I chased Walleyes along the rocky shore lines of Door County. The boat traffic was nuts but we were able to get double digit fish almost every night. Fishing with rapala in many different patterns seem to produce. Check out some pics below.

I have avalibility if you would like to get in on the brown or walleye bite coming up!

Thanks JJ

4-6 Night eyes

Fished Friday night. The bite was pretty good. Water temp around 44. Not to many big fish but nice  20-25 inch fish. Caught both spawned out and pre spawn females. Also had a nice bonus pike. Pulling stick baits on the rock shore lines worked best . Staying in that 15fow contour. Will be out again tonight. Stay tuned.!

Hey All

I fished the past couple night. Eye bite has been fair. Picked up 3 nice pike aswell. Trolling stick baits worked the best. Tomorrow (friday) I am hitting the water in search of brown trout. Check back through out the day for pics and video. Please feel free to contribute to the discussion on the board!

SPRING IS HERE!!!

I must say I am sorry for the lack of postings on the spring bite. School has been taking up a good portion of my time, but the walleyes are biting now. I will be posting pics and info up on this blog as much as I can. If I dont post for a couple days let me know and Ill get back on track. So now the fishing report

What a spring it has been here in Door County. The ice has come and gone so quick. The spring walleye bite is in full swing. Trolling the rock structure of the Door Peninsula with shallow stick baits has been producing great action. Water temps range from 42-45. Lots of nice fish being caught. Fishing anywhere from 20-5 fow. Now is the time to get in on the Door County walleye action.
