Wel the recent warmth has impacted the ice somewhat but not as bad as expected. Looking ahead I think we will run trips through the weekend and possibly into next week depending on how the ice holds up. Fishing has been pretty good with most groups getting limits or close to that. This is the last stretch of fishing till next season, get it before it’s gone!

Fishing has been pretty decent to good for most groups. It seems the groups who pay attention and put forth a good presentation seem to fair better. Some traditional whitefish rigs have been working, but it seems horizontal presentations are woking better with live bait. We have been experimenting with goby type presentations and have been woking very good. The fish this year seem to be healthy, and our size seems to be bigger than average! Feels great to finally be out on our traditional deep water spots. Fishing has been pretty good with limits for those who put in  the effort! Have some an open Friday and two Sunday. Mid week days are really filling in.

As of today we are fishing our traditional deep water spots with pretty good success. The ice is in pretty decent shape with a consistent 9-14” in most areas. We have been fishing with the traditional whitefish rigs with good success in 50-70fow. The fish seem to be bigger and healthier than compared to previous year. Still have some open dates! JJ.

We were able to get a couple select groups on some ice this weekend. We fished some near shore ice close to shore. We fished some really rough ice so we need extensions to punch through. The groups that fished hard and payed attention caught some fish. Again the bite is nothing compared to the deep water bite but at least we are able to get out and in a area that has a few fish!  Looking ahead we need just need a couple nights with cooler temps to lock in this off shore ice, which ranges between 5-7”, we like 10-12” for getting the houses on it. After the 2nd it looks like we get some colder temps which will help. This week looks like there is some cold mid week to tighten up the sloppy mess on the top!

Well we are patiently waiting to get our houses out to the deeper traditional spots. We walked it today and found ice from 2-10″, the conditions are much better than last year and once we get a little thicker ice we will be in good shape.
A lot of these thin spots are around spots with 8″+ these are hot spots and are typically the last freeze. these will heal up fast with cold.

Right now we are fishing some near shore spots for groups that are unable reschedule and patiently waiting to get out deep!

Another season is approaching, but we sure could use some cold. This past week the colder nights and days really increased the ice formation on the bay. The fallowing days we had gales our o the south which sent the ice to the western side of the bay. We are pretty optimistic that the next week/10 days will really help with the colder temps. We figure about two weeks before we are rolling.

The new rangers are ready, added another shack. Bring on the ice!

We are on ice and out fishing those traditional deep water spots we have fished for year. The ice pack is very good across the bay of Green Bay. We have 7-12” of ice on these off shore spots. Fees great to be in the ice! Looking forward to another great year! We did a little dish and caught a good handful! Still have some limited availability! Looking forward to seeing everyone!
