Well the cold temps is fueling ice formation on Green Bay. I ran my first guide trip this season and did very well. We fished in about 15fow and found great whitefish action. We had our limits by noon. Felt good to get out there and get on some fish. We used the typical whitefish set ups with gulp. We should have a another great week of ice making weather. I had any where from 6-12″ of ice in the mouth of Little Sturg. Here is some video and photos from this weekend. Have fun and be safe.

Ice Has Arrived

Hey Everyone!

Well the cold temps have finally arrived to the Door Peninsula. Ice formation is in fully swing in many of the inner bays. (Riley’s, Little Sturg,) Little Sturgeon has about 35% of its total bay covered with a skim of ice. I walked out about 100 yards off shore and had about 2″ of ice. NOT FISHABLE YET! I was only in 2-3fow.

Low temps are predicted to hover in the low teens to upper single digits. Light winds will put ice making into over drive! We have an ice fishing prize pack we are giving away check it out on Facebook

I had a very successful winter last year, baring the conditions. I ended my ice season with

all the gear I started with. No stranded shacks or customers. Safety is a word often over used in this business. Last year the ice was safe for one month. Fished hard and had success. Looking forward to another one this year, I cant wait!

Upgraded most of my video gear. You will sure enjoy the videos we produce this year!

We are going to make ice tonight and I will have some content of that tomorrow.
